Treehouse Opportunity Program Fund

A discretionary fund designed with the idea that at Treehouse - A First Step Learning Center, Inc., we believe that the journey to the top begins with one step.

At Treehouse, we strive to support all children and families.  Dating all the way back to 2014, when our then Family Child Care welcomed our first employee, our program has internally contributed financial tuition support to all Treehouse educators with enrolled children.  Additionally, some children with specific needs, families with a financial need, and families experiencing a temporary financial burden have also been supported by program funding.  Our program – in partnership with our generous Treehouse families - has also had the opportunity to provide temporary financial support to educators in our program who have experienced hardship.  

We want to expand our TOP Fund with community support!

Part of the pillar of Treehouse practice is creating a partnership between the Treehouse team of educators and the families in our program. We want to have every day feel like you are dropping your child off to an extension of your family – and picking them up knowing they are loved and cared for.  Our goal is to create a positive community and in turn watch it grow into something special.  We believe in the power of community – we believe in the Treehouse family.

Together the Treehouse Family and our community can ensure that any child or family that wants to be part of the Treehouse family has an opportunity to do so.  We need your help to grow our TOP fund.

Recently, we have identified a family currently enrolled in Treehouse with two children that needs support to be able to continue their Treehouse journey this summer.  As a program, Treehouse has initially offered partial tuition support.  We are hoping as a Treehouse community, we can begin our Treehouse Opportunity Program Fund by raising a minimum of $3500.  These funds will cover the remaining tuition along with a small stipend to present to the family for summer snacks/lunches and summer clothes.  This family has two hard working parents who are working on getting into a new apartment by the end of the summer and gifting them with summer tuition assistance in our program will make the difference between the mom being able to continue working full time or needing to leave our program to ensure their children are cared for this summer.  We believe our Treehouse Family and our community can make this happen.  “Sometimes it takes only one act of kindness to change a person’s life” (Jackie Chen)

What’s our goal?  When introducing this idea to another parent in the program seeking support in getting it started, she asked if we wanted to stop with just one family or make it even bigger -because the sky’s the limit when thinking about supporting families in our community.  As a program we pride ourselves on aiming to exceed expectations and we hope to take this program right to the TOP.   We are kicking off our Treehouse Opportunity Program Fundraising on May 20, 2023 with an initial goal of raising $5000 by June 20, 2023, which will allow us to help the family we have identified anonymously as our first recipient, and to start our fund for the next child, family, or educator at Treehouse needing to be presented with an opportunity to continue their journey – one step at a time – to the TOP.
