Our drop-in care program is generally only available to families who are currently enrolled or who have previously been enrolled. Once a part of our family, always a part of our family!
Families use our drop in program for some of the following reasons:
siblings of an enrolled child who has no school on a day we are open or in the summer
a previously enrolled child who has moved on to school and needs care on a school closure day when we are open, or in the summer
a currently enrolled child who needs an additional day of care - for example a child who is scheduled normally on a Tuesday/Thursday weekly schedule but needs an extra day of care
To utilize this type of care - all paperwork must be current. A daily or hourly rate applies. If you are not a current or past family and you are interested in drop in care, we can discuss your specific situation. However, in most cases drop in care is not ideal for young children. Familiar routines and consistent caregivers are always best and we typically find it beneficial when a child is already very comfortable here.
Our program is located in a residential area on the East Longmeadow public bus route for Meadowbrook, Mapleshade, and Birchland. We are open for before school care from 7:30am-until bus pick up time. Once you arrange your child's bus plans with the transportation department, the bus will pick up your child on Maple Street. A staff member will walk your child to the bus and wait with them until the bus arrives.
Your child has the option to engage in meaningful play with peers before leaving for school.
While we are happy to enroll children from other schools or other towns, the East Longmeadow Public School bus (specifically Meadowbrook, Mapleshade, and Birchland) is the only transportation available from the program to/from your child's school.

Your child will be greeted by a staff member each day as they exit the bus. Your child will have time for an after-school snack, homework help, and socializing with peers. If weather and time permits, we make every effort to get outside after school for some fresh air!
