Day 1 – The Start

Day one was eventful. We started with morning prayer in the student chapel, then got on the bus and set off on our adventure. We arrived at our destination around 7 a.m. Today, we also walked over a highway, which was pretty cool, and that’s when the true adventure began. We spent most of the hike walking and talking.

When we got to camp, we were all pretty tired but excited to set up our shelters and get the fires going. Dr. Krom told us that there would usually be firewood at all the campsites, but at this site, all the wood was gone. So we spent most of the day searching for wood to stay warm at night and to cook our food.

Our days consist of waking up, making breakfast, doing morning prayer and the Office of Readings, stopping for lunch and midday prayer, then eating dinner, doing evening prayer, journaling, and finishing off with night prayer.
