The water deanery is responsible for the acquisition of liquid resources, as well as filtration and distribution. They are essential to making sure that all members of the party are hydrated. Without the water, we also are unable to eat the dehydrated meals. The water deanery is responsible for carrying the pots, water bags, and filters. They are also responsible for cleaning the filters used in combination with the water bags after each use. Members of this party are recommended to bring a partner to help with pumping.
"The way of water has no beginning and no end. Our hearts beat in the womb of the world. The sea is your home, before your birth and after your death."
The camp deanery is in charge of setting up the tarps on each shelter to block out the wind. This deanery carries the tarps, ropes, and carabiners used to set up the shelters. They also set up the bear bag each night.
A large part of our daily schedule is centered around prayer. We pray the divine office, morning prayer, midday prayer, evening prayer, and night prayer daily. We use prayer booklets which have the psalms and readings required for each set of prayers each day, and so the Opus Dei Deanery is responsible for transporting these booklets and keeping them saved.
The first aid deanery is covered by a select few individuals who are well versed in first aid, most notably Jenna Gorsich, who is a licensed nurse, and Amberlee, who assisted her. They were responsible for our first aid kit, an essential for any trip.
The fire deanery is responsible for gathering firewood, lighting the fires in the shelters, and then keeping those fires going throughout the day/night. There is one person responsible for the fire in each individual shelter. To aid them, they carry a pair of fireproof gloves and a pocket bellows.
