Assessment dates
Assessments will be on Thursdays’ the, 5th, 12th, 19th and 26th of February.
We also have an additional assessment time which is the afternoon of Friday the 30th of January.
An individual time will be arranged for you to bring your child into school to do some fun, one on one individual activities with your child's teacher. These activities will give the teacher an opportunity to gain further information about your child's abilities.
Literacy - The Little Learners Assessment of Reading Skills (LLARS) is a reading assessment tool designed to inform teaching and track student progress in reading skills. It evaluates a student's knowledge of grapheme-phoneme correspondences, their ability to decode non-words and heart words, and their reading accuracy, fluency, and comprehension of unseen decodable texts. The interview is one-to-one between a teacher and student, using a variety of texts and resources. Your teacher records each student’s responses directly onto the online system. This data is used to plan and implement a program which is specific to your child's needs.

Numeracy - Early Years Numeracy Interview
We use this online assessment tool to determine students’ existing mathematical knowledge. The testing will give data which can be described as key "stepping stones" along paths to mathematical understanding. This will also help your teacher to assess the progress of all learners and support more targeted teaching practices in mathematics.
