Reflection

My current position deals heavily with communication, internal and external, always promoting transparency, openness, and clarity. I have and currently am participating and chairing some committees and work groups utilizing my facilitation skills. One of my most transparent communication projects was our web redesign project where it was our job to create, gain support, approvals, develop, and release a completely new college website. I did 15 presentations to various groups around the college, presented to the entire staff and faculty, talked to hundreds of students, and led a communication plan that attempted to touch everyone on campus. Our transparent project, led to almost no complaints when the site was released, which compared to the past was a huge accomplishment.

Finally, building team skills and cohesiveness with open communication. I continue to try and hone my listening skills, present clear expectations, and garner trust with not only my team, but the students, staff, and faculty I work with every day.
