Reflection

I have spent quite a bit of time immersing myself in diversity, equity, and inclusive training and awareness. Century College is a diverse population in race, gender, sexuality, social, financial, and learning, which has given me the opportunity to involve myself in many areas. Last year I spent 9 months in our peer-led SEED training participating in an interactive, open-communication style, discussion and learning experience. I have also since volunteered myself for several hiring committees for both staff and faculty, as I feel that I can do my part by being aware of bias and being objective as we search for a more diverse, inclusive environment within our institution.

Finally, in ED632: Curriculum, Instruction, and Learning Theory (a great class) I learned about differentiated learning and how to create a new lesson plan for my tech training's around campus. I have already implemented some of this, and look forward to revamping all of our IT training's in the future.
