Olena Dvoretska is a Ukrainian ceramic artist based in Ireland and a graduate of the Grennan Mill Craft School in County Kilkenny. Her practice is driven by a lifelong fascination with the Earth’s history, geology, paleontology, and archaeology.
"For me, clay is more than a material—it is a living archive of our planet."
Her work explores the passage of time, transformation, and the subtle stories preserved within the landscape. Deeply curious about materials, Olena combines handbuilding and wheel-throwing techniques, crafting her own mineral pigments, experimenting with custom glazes, and using locally sourced clays and raw earth elements.
Inspired by geological formations, fossils, weathered surfaces, and traditional folk forms—from ancient-style ceramic whistles to contemporary sculptures—her creations invite quiet contemplation and reconnect the viewer with the ancient rhythms of the Earth.
