I worked as an Extended Care Employee at Middle Tennessee Christian School in the Spring of 2021. My experience in this position was quite enjoyable. It required excellent communication skills and very disciplined awareness throughout the time I was at this job. The job included watching over children, organizing afternoons for parents to pick up their children, interacting with parents, communicating effectively with co-workers, ensuring attendance was up to date, and ensuring safety for the children. One of the business's strengths is maintaining regular communication with parents, children, and co-workers.
Additionally, the business excels in organization while fostering the development of leadership qualities. An area where improvement is needed is organizing tasks for the kids to participate in. They typically only offered two options: playing outside or watching a movie. More educational opportunities should be provided for children in this area of work. MTCS's mission is to provide a Christ-centered, rigorous college preparatory education while embedding Christian Principles into the student body as they develop.
The business exemplified what I think to be the most essential aspect of its mission, which is being Christ-centered. They also provided education for the students in their care in separate after-school programs. A goal that could benefit the business is incorporating more learning opportunities in the aftercare program. These learning opportunities can be small and not very time-consuming if done correctly. This will lead to better development of Christian morals in the children's lives and increase their overall intelligence.
