For this project, I explored Ray-Ban meta smart glasses and the rise of wearable techology. I learned how features like AI, audio, and camera features ca fit into everyday routines.
I chose Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses as my emerging technology topic because wearable tech is becoming more advanced and built into everyday life. Since I already wear glasses, this stood out to me as something practical that still has innovative features like translation, navigation, and real-time help. I also like that it can support you while you stay present in the real world instead of being on your phone.
One interesting thing I learned is that Ray-Ban meta glasses still need a smartphone connection to work fully. I assumed they would operate completely on their own, but they rely on a phone for processing, apps, and connectivity. This helped me understand that wearable tech is still closely tied to smartphones.
Through this project, I learned that emerging technology isn't about innovation, it also needs to be practical and easy to use. Researching Ray-Ban Meta glasses helped me understand both the benefits and limits of wearable tech, especially how it still depends on smartphones.
