The Tiwi Community College Library, in collaboration with the TCC League of Linguists (LOL), celebrated the 89th National Book Week last November 24, 2023 which was well-participated by the students. The event began with a parade of character costumes from the town plaza to the school. The program was formally opened by a message from the LOL's president, Ms. Eddena Completo, followed by a message from the college librarian, Mr. Rodolfo L. Bermas. Thereafter, the Spookyvember Book Week Fashion Show took place where the participants/contestants proudly showed off their chosen costumes. The winners were awarded afterwards.
In the afternoon, the students had fun playing in the Hall-O Win Book Quiz spearheaded by the League of Linguists with their adviser as the host.
The awarding ceremony for the Hall-O Win Book Quiz, Library's Bookface Photography contest and the Digital Library Logo-making contest followed immediately. The winners were awarded certificates and prizes which further motivated participants and acknowledged their talents.
Aside from the exciting contests, a book exhibit was organized for the first time to promote reading and explore new literary works. The event helped in showcasing a diverse range of books and encouraged students to try different genres of literature.
