INTASC Standard #3: Learning Environments. The teacher works with others to create environments that support individual and collaborative learning, and that encourage positive social interaction, active engagement in learning, and self-motivation.
The teacher creates a classroom environment that is organized, safe, accessible, and efficient in order to support individual and collaborative learning. This environment should encourage and promote social interaction, active engagement in learning, and self-motivation. This can be done by setting expectations between the students and teacher so that communication and respect remain mutual and consistent.
Attached is a Rules & Reinforcements flyer I designed that communicates classroom expectations to families and students. I selected this article because effective learning environments rely on clear routines and shared expectations between the teacher, students, and families. With this tool, I can create a safe and predictable classroom that promotes respectful interactions, engagement, and responsibility. This artifact aligns with Standard #3 because it encourages collaboration with families to support positive social interaction, active learning, and student self motivation.
