The museum is located in a historical station house building which was built in 1954 for the Objective San Jose Fire District. Volunteer fire-fighters operated the station house till the City of Fremont took over. It served as a station house till 1994, then was renovated and was rented to the Objective Peak Heritage Foundation and The Washington Town Historical Society for usage as a museum. Volunteers have landscaped the garden around the museum.
The Museum of Local History has a lot of fascinating artifacts and history on Fremont, which has certainly gone through plenty of modifications over the many years, It's $2.00 for admission, and the museum is open every Wednesday and Friday along with the second weekend of monthly from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. It is run by volunteer docents.

There were lots of historical artifacts of the Fremont locations and bios of its inhabitants. This local history museum helps you visualize the old days. Buggies, cobbler tools, fossils, computer systems, phones ... a bit of daily life from the past. The museum also includes the history of Worlds of Wonder and Teddy Ruxpin! It is a little room with several sections by topic.
One of my favorites was the When I was Growing Up Exhibit. This display includes a range of historical artifacts varying from the 19th century through the 20th century. The School Days Exhibit contains items about earlier schools in the area.Growing and Raising Food Exhibit is about the farming and gardening of times past. The Mission and Rancho Days should not be missed.
You can do a self-guided tours or you can take a hosted tour.
