This is an excellent location to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life, for a long, loosening up walk around the lake with beautiful sights of water, hills, and wildlife. It's silent and also calm here, not loud and crowded like the nearby Lake Elizabeth. You can soak up some sun, fish, boating, have a picnic and even walk you dog ,on a leash of course, this a very relaxing place.

The layout of Quarry Lakes is extremely straightforward and also you can keep to the trails that loop back to parking lots or go on to other parts of the lake. Restrooms are easy access with completely stocked tissue as well as soap.- General: absolutely a beautiful hiking/walking experience!

It is generally a series of big gravel pits, where after years of digging, they created a water system to be able to fill up and control the water levels/quality. So looks sensible, it resembles a collection of ponds/lakes. A minimum of 4-5 different bodies of water. There's one main lake (Horseshoe Lake) where the majority of the activities are.

The park request that you bring your preferred means of containing water during your run or walk and at the aid stations where you can get water, but they are trying to keep litter down and prefer you bring something to drink out of to help with this.

Quarry Lakes Regional Recreation Area is open from 5 am until 10 PM. Admission fee of $5 per vehicle to get into park.
