Coyote Hills Regional Park

This is a big location of regional park. Hill, bays, wetlands, tracks, biking, horse riding, bird watching, etc. Spring time you see different color of wildflowers will embellish the green Hill. It is worth it to spend one day here.

Taking one of the routes to the Bay to see the sun set and see the orange and pink pastel sky is beautiful. We went there after a rainy season and the hills of the park were a gorgeous bright green also.

Trails are hilly (the elevation is very low like 300 ft ) and if you do not wish to take any hills, there are little paths that are better near to the road with attractive pond and tall grasses photo ops. If you're searching fo parking there is only a very little parking lot off the highway that we were lucky enough to get a spot at.

The Alameda Creek Path runs 12 miles from San Francisco Bay to the mouth of Niles Canyon. It forms the northern border of Coyote Hills park, and is actually 2 routes in parallel: an equestrian path on the norther levee and a bicycle trail on the southern levee.

The walk to the actual park from the lot is flat, but will take you about 20 minutes. Coyote Hills is but far one of the nicest parks we have been to.

There are some trails that loop "around" the hills here that are paved. Great for non-strenuous bike/hike. This is where most people gravitate towards. There are routes that go through high reeds through a marshland. It is primarily on a winding wooden pier but it does have some dirt tracks that will ultimately lead to the Alameda Creek trail

There are a several archaeological sites within the park, maintaining the evidence of habitation by Native Americans of the Ohlone group of tribes, including shell mounds. Access to these sites is not open for the visitors, but they can be visited by per-arrangement with the parks services.
