Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)
1. Purpose
The Tactical Division is tasked with maintaining the security and military readiness of the Unified Star Federation. This SOP outlines the protocols, responsibilities, and operational guidelines for ensuring the effective execution of tactical missions, defensive measures, and strategic operations.
2. Scope

3. Structure and Chain of Command
1. Supreme Tactical Commander (STC):
- Oversees all Tactical Division operations and reports directly to the Federation High Council.

2. Sector Tactical Commanders (STCs):
- Manage tactical operations within assigned sectors.
- Coordinate with the Federation Navy, Marine Corps, and Operations Division for joint operations.
3. Unit Leaders:

- Ensure compliance with mission directives and operational protocols.
4. Tactical Specialists:

4. Responsibilities
4.1 Strategic Defense
- Protect core and frontier systems from external threats, including piracy, hostile factions, and alien incursions.
- Deploy defensive assets, such as orbital platforms and planetary shields, as necessary.
4.2 Mission Execution
- Conduct offensive and defensive tactical missions as directed by the Supreme Tactical Commander.
- Execute reconnaissance, search-and-destroy, and rescue operations with precision and efficiency.
4.3 Fleet Operations
- Manage the deployment and coordination of tactical fleets, including capital ships, support vessels, and fighter squadrons.
- Ensure all ships are maintained in combat-ready condition and adhere to deployment schedules.
4.4 Ground Operations
- Oversee the deployment of ground forces for planetary defense, urban combat, and special operations.
- Coordinate with local authorities and the Civilian Security Corps during joint operations.
4.5 Intelligence and Countermeasures
- Collect and analyze intelligence to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities.
- Implement countermeasures, such as electronic warfare and covert operations, to neutralize threats.
5. Protocols
5.1 Operational Readiness
- Tactical units must conduct monthly drills and readiness exercises.
- Maintain a 24/7 alert status for rapid response teams in all sectors.
- Ensure all equipment, from personal weaponry to starships, is regularly inspected and maintained.
5.2 Mission Briefing and Debriefing
- Conduct thorough mission briefings before deployment, detailing objectives, roles, and contingencies.
- Submit detailed after-action reports (AARs) within 48 hours of mission completion.
5.3 Engagement Rules
- Follow the Rules of Engagement (RoE) as outlined in the Federation Tactical Charter.
- Minimize civilian casualties and collateral damage during all operations.
- Engage hostile forces only upon direct orders or in self-defense.
5.4 Communication Standards
- Use secure communication channels for all tactical transmissions.
- Tactical units must provide hourly status updates during active missions.
- Report mission-critical developments immediately to the Sector Tactical Commander.
5.5 Crisis Management
- Activate Tactical Emergency Protocols (TEPs) during large-scale threats or emergencies.
- Deploy rapid-response units to contain and neutralize the situation within six standard hours.
- Coordinate with the Operations Division for resource and logistical support.
6. Reporting Requirements
- Incident Reports: Submit within 24 hours of any engagement or significant tactical event.
- Fleet and Ground Readiness Logs: Update monthly and submit to Sector Tactical Commanders.
- Intelligence Summaries: Provide weekly intelligence updates to the Supreme Tactical Commander.
- After-Action Reports (AARs): Include mission objectives, outcomes, casualties, and strategic recommendations.
7. Compliance and Auditing
- Tactical units are subject to quarterly audits by the Federation Oversight Committee to ensure compliance with protocols.
- Any deviation from this SOP must be documented and approved by the Supreme Tactical Commander.
- Violations of protocol will result in disciplinary actions as outlined in the Federation Code of Military Conduct.
8. Safety and Security
- Enforce strict safety measures during live combat exercises and operations.
- Ground forces and fleet crews must wear protective gear appropriate for their mission environments.
