Sith artifacts are items, weapons, objects, relics or armour that have been imbued with the power of Sith sorcery. These objects gain a connection to the Dark Side, which allows them to demonstrate unique properties when Force power is channeled through them by a suitable user. For this reason, Non Force Sensitives are unable to activate artifacts on their own, although they are still susceptible to their effects.
To create an artifact, any Sith fluent in Sorcery may enchant the artifact with various spells and effects. For example, a Sith's sword may be enchanted to channel and generate Force Lightning through its blade. Certain properties of the object may affect how powerful of an artifact it becomes. For example, utilizing a Force-attuned material like Sarrassian Iron, creature parts like the skin of a Hssiss, or even the addition of the Sorcerer's blood may help in creating a more powerful artifact. However, results may vary wildly from Sith to Sith, and no single Sith holds a claim to the most effective way to create an artifact.
It should be noted that each Sith Artifact usually has a drawback of some sort. For example armour that has been turned into an artifact often yearns to be worn and is painful to separate from. Artifacts can even form a connection or bond with those who utilise them leading to Sith feeling like they have to use the artifacts more than they should. That temptation can lead to the Sith's destruction if they fail to control the artifact.
