Competitions

Great to see Old Johnstown Village coming into flower ready for the 2018 Pride of Place Competition.

Do you remember this Photo Competition from last year? Perhaps we should do it again so during July capture a Johnstown Moment and we'll host a 'Johnstown Summer' competition in August.

Community

Young Resident entrepreneurs Megan and Ciara hosted a 'Pop-Up' jewelry and treats sale in the Priory Estate raising €132 for Navan Soup Kitchen.

We follow up on last month's article where Residents of one Johnstown Estate got help from the 'big guns' to cut their Long Grass.

We finally have another GP Surgery for Johnstown so we called in for a pre opening check up.

A fantastic Dog Day Event was held in the Johnstown Peoples Park.

Work began on transforming the former Petrol Station's barren verge. It proved to be incredibly hard work but it's beginning to show signs of life after a decade.

We continue to explore free family friendly venues and this month we visited Blackwater Park.

Transport

We fully expected it and now we've got traffic for the summer. The Kentstown Road bridge is now fully closed until August to create Navan's first dedicated new bridge for pedestrians and cyclists over the River Boyne.

Johnstown Tidy Towns, with the assistance of Meath County Council, Navan Garden Centre and Clear Window Repairs have followed up the bridge clean with new Flower Baskets.

Education

Who doesn't appreciate fresh fruit and veg but who's willing to grow their own. We discovered Meadow Sweet Organic Farm, only 10min drive away.

Sport & Fitness

Another opportunity for our younger residents to try new Multi Sport Activities here in Johnstown on Saturday July 14th.

Park Fitness Johnstown have restarted their classes on the Bailis Downs Green. Keep an eye on both the weather and their Facebook page for the new schedule.

Athlumney Football Club are hoping for acceptance into the MDL and looking for players.
