Five Nights at Weapon's: Enhanced Edition (often abbreviated to FNaW: EnEd) is a Scratch FNaF fan game created by The Editor and is the first game in the Five Nights at Weapon's series. Ever since the start of 2022, The Editor worked hard to remake the 2019 version that was horribly buggy and just a mess. Now, in this enhanced edition, the full story of Five Nights at Weapon's can be experienced for all to enjoy.
Scratch Version: After failing to completely corrupt many Scratch projects, Robo-Weapon decided that the best way to ensure the people's knowledge of him is by becoming the main villain in his OWN project. However, he's been sure to be extra careful this time around. He has remade his first appearance from the ground up, and he'll use it to propel his status from forgettable to known by all.
In-Universe/Canon Version: The year is 1986. Business at the Dragon Diner has been good, but not as good as in the beginning. You play as the new security guard who just wants a quick good-paying job, but this turns out to be more than you signed up for. Are you able to survive five nights, or will you perish because he thought you were someone else?
The first version of FNaW was originally made in 2019 and officially published on January 26, 2022. The Editor knew that it was bad and ever since that day, he worked to create a brand new-and-improved version that would actually be playable. The next day, he got to work deleting old sprites and replacing them with newer ones. He then took a break from working on the game from February 7 to October 5 of that year, with a rudimentary trailer showcasing the game the day after he stopped working on it.
During that time, he made the FNaW: EnEd Official Soundtrack (OST) and put all of the songs used in the game there. Once he came back to Scratch, he started working on the game again and being inspired by Minecraft and Hello Neighbor in terms of pre-release content, made several alpha versions, each one adding new features such as new camera sprites, reworked mechanics, and eventually enemies. Shadow Robuddy was the first one to be fully programmed, being introduced in Alpha Version 0.5.2. Robo-Weapon himself was added in Alpha Version 0.7.2 where he was stationary, but would eventually be mobile in the betas.
Once Alpha Version 0.9.7 released, the game entered its beta phase. This would last from December 2022 to April 2023, with 3 betas being released. Beta 1 was released on December 4, 2022, and it didn't add much but was progress nonetheless. The next beta was Beta 2, released on April 20, and it was "the biggest update the game has ever recieved." It added new mechanics, jumpscares, fixed several bugs, made Robo-Weapon a threat, and did much more. Beta 3 was released on April 27, and it added a new character named Robuddy, more easter eggs, and was the only beta to be updated after its completion, being repurposed slightly into an infinite survival challenge, as the nights got harder as they went on. The Editor stated that Night 14 or 21 was the absolute limit as Robuddy's door would appear so fast that it would distract the player from being able to stop Shadow Robuddy from forming, not including Robo-Weapon's difficulty level being 100.
The game was finally released on April 30, 2023 with nightly calls, new easter eggs, reworked mechanics, and a new 3-star system for completing the game in 3 main ways: 5 nights, 6 nights, and max difficulty Night 6. There is also an Extras menu which showcases many renders of the characters and gives insight into the game's lore.
Ever since the full release of the game, The Editor has made several updates to the game, mostly bug fixes and more lore inclusions to certain aspects of the game. Recently, The Editor has started to make plans for a major update to the game, completely overhauling the Extras and introducing challenges, although it is unknown when this update will come out.
The gameplay of FNaW: EnEd is mostly different depending on which version you play. In the alphas prior to AV0.7.2, the game is basically sitting in an office for a few minutes. Once Shadow Robuddy was introduced, however, the goal changed to stop him from forming all the way or he kills you. Robo-Weapon introduced the main threat, where you have to look at him to check where he is. Once he enters the office vent, you must shine your flashlight into it and shut the vent door on him to prevent him from jumpscaring you. Robuddy works similarly to Shadow Robuddy, but in the office instead. He will make a door appear in the office at a set rate and you must shine your light at it for it to fade out at the same rate it fades in, making it quite hard to deal with while Shadow Robuddy is also active.
At the beginning of every night, Robo-Weapon gives you a call. This changes in each major version, but in the final game, he gives you subtle hints on how to defend yourself from the different threats in the game. He also gets more and more aggravated with each passing night, introducing Shadow Robuddy on Night 2 and normal Robuddy on Night 4. On Night 6, you can set his difficulty anywhere between 6 and 25, and if you set him to 25 he takes inspiration from Super Mario's invincibility star and starts flashing different colors for the whole night. Once Night 6 is completed, the Extras menu is unlocked, allowing the player to look at different sprites of the characters and even a little Q&A section.
In Beta 3, beating Night 6 will allow you to reach Night [ERROR], which are the nights past Night 6. These glitched nights make Robuddy much harder to deal with, and Robo-Weapon moves much more frequently.
On April 19, 2024, the show announced that the game would be coming to Gamejolt on April 30, 2024 as the game turns 1 year old. The show also stated that they would be going under a new name, Xenosaur_Studios, which is the in-universe parent company of the show.
The original main menu music for this game was the FNaF 1 main menu song but reversed.
This was changed to "Entrance to Hell," a remixed version of the Skylanders: Collection Vault main theme. However, the old theme is planned to be reused in FNaW 2.
The Extras menu reveals a lot about the game's universe:
Shadow Robuddy may or may not be a hallucination created by Robo-Weapon using his Dark powers.
Robuddy is a repurposed garbage disposal robot with incinerators built into his insides.
He is also a robotic counterpart of HV's first best friend, named Buddy.
The name of the location where the game takes place is Dragon Diner.
It also takes place in the year 1986 canonically.
In the dining area's random chance sprite, there is an orange chest similar to the one seen in FNaF 4. It is unknown what purpose it serves other than a little easter egg.
It was based on a clay model The Editor made back in 2019.
The game is canon to the show and its overarching story.
However, the gameplay shown in-game and in videos is not entirely accurate to what really happened in-universe, with some details being incorrect such as Robuddy's door canonically being a different shape.
Beta 3's infinite survival mode later inspired The Editor to make FNaW: Endless in the future, which is a customizable endless challenge set in the FNaW: EnEd location.
The full game's OST was uploaded to the channel on August 17, 2024.
