Not as much info compared to other planets, but nonetheless, an unhealthy amount.
A synthetic planet built after the planet known as Egania became uninhabitable. Most energy is taken from solar panels on the megastructure to be used for daily life.
Egania is often credited for the forming of the Eganian Confederation, and its name is used for the alliance in honor of this achievement. Its citizens are known for their extreme smarts and leadership, as well as technological innovation.
Egania is a planet of the Yva star system
Often referred to as "Egania" by locals, it is the capital city of Egania. It boasts a dense population and lowest crime rates in the universe. Many buildings are immense skyscrapers that extend both upwards and underground.
City of Egania, Laksha is known for its vibrant parties and celebrations. Arts district.
City of Egania, a large business district.
City of Egania, partially underground. Mainly a suburban residential area.
Egainia stretches along the orbit of the old planet of Egainia, and slowly rotates around its star. It is composed of four main sections, each home to a different social class. The last segment of the ring is the control center and is responsible for monitoring the ring's functions. The superstructure is my own improvised version of a Dyson Sphere and absorbs all of its energy from the star it surrounds. As 100% of it is synthetic, civilization exists even "underground" - aka the main areas containing the population. It has built in facilities such as transportation, allowing easy access to anything on the ring. At the edge of each segment, there is a security station along with a shuttle that flies passengers and cargo back and forth between the segments.
The ring was constructed using nearby planets in Egainia's solar system, making it the only thing orbiting its sun besides its asteroid belt.
(Note: the segments are NOT connected and are floating independently. There were some questionable ideas that I came up with about how each segment was locked into place relative to the other segments through a quantumly entangled particle, but I don't really know the science behind that so I still need to fact check to see if this would theoretically work.)
Egainia is mainly constructed of metal, cement, and glass and has a "futuristic" feel by our own (human) standards. But this dull makeup often leaves visitors with an unsettled and unnatural feeling. The uniform buildings, dull colors, and deserted streets that almost seem too clean...
LOTS of skyscrapers/tall buildings
skylights on the streets revealing below-ground-level chambers
many entrances to the underground train system
no street signs, everything navigation related can easily be found on a mobile device
The smallest of the four segments that make up the ring, controls most daily functions such as:
operate the engines on the rings to make the superstructure rotate
monitor/control the bullet train system
atmosphere monitoring
Trains/metro
the easiest transportation method, tends to be extremely fast and reliable
can reach anywhere on or in the ring segment
can be overcrowded
Drones/planes
Slightly more dangerous (still safer than human cars)
can reach anywhere midair or on the ring segment
Shuttles
transportation between the segments, launches off of one segment and thrusters propel to the next segment
most common transportations between segments
looks like a train without wheels
Egania does not have an orbiting spaceport, it is instead built in.
Egania is ruled by a group of 10 people, which are elected every GY (7.13 earth years) — two councilors are elected every 1/5 GY (1.4 earth years), no two councilors with the same responsibilities are re-elected in the same year. There are 5 main powers that are divided up among the 10 councilmen/people, and after 5 people are elected as councilmen on election day, citizens vote on who gets what responsibility. Prilimus is one of the council members (Education and Welfare), and is also the youngest in Eganian history, being only 3.2 GY (23) old.
The 5 main powers that the councilmen get are divided up as the following:
Military and Protection (military, commander-in-chief)
Political (treaties, human rights, race ranking, judicial, etc.)
Financial (money and funding, commerce, financial-aid, etc.)
Education and Welfare (schools, financial-aid, security, judicial, etc.)
Agriculture and Natural Resources (energy, food supplies, pollution, etc.)
The Legislative Body consists of 75 members, with representatives divided among the 5 zones of Egania based on population. Its purpose is to propose and vote on laws that are to be established in Egania.
Positions are available to all meeting requirements:
Between ages 35 - 75
Lived in Egania for past 10 years
Eganian citizen/naturalized citizen
Received 18+ years of education
Must pass a series of tests of mental/physical health checks, loyalty check
There are many long-term parties in Egania. Although parties do tend to lean either left or right wing by Earth standards, there is meticulous care in the system to predict severe/long term political polarization. Elections occur through electronic voting using rank-based voting.
Although it heavily depends on the planet and their former government structures, each country is required to have one representative, which then represents their countries in their global council. One person out of each global council is required to report to Egania at least once a year. Global representatives switch among the global councils once a year in the form of rotations.
While the Education and Welfare and Political power council members hold power over judicial matters, most cases are settled in court. Similar to America’s judicial branch, cases are presented and judged. There are multiple locations, with the largest and most important being in the Eganian capital. The Edu/Wf and Political council members can be present in the most important hearings, and contribute to the ruling.
