Our instructors are seasoned, professional ballet teachers with collectively over 100 years of experience working with adult dancers.
The majority of our teachers studied under Miss Bobbi's mentorship. We continue her edict that adult dance training should not be made easier by watering it down. Ballet demands a precise technique and we teach accordingly. We also understand that adult dancers may have some limitations. Our teachers all have knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology and can therefore offer modifications on a one-on-one basis.
We teach serious ballet but do not take ourselves too seriously. Ballet is a difficult and challenging dance form but we believe it should also be fun. We follow the message in Aristotle's quote, "Those that know do, those that understand, teach."

Robyn grew up dancing in Regional ballet companies in California. She was a performing member of the San Jose Dance Theater and Sacramento Ballet as a teenager. Her professional experience includes performing with Nolan T'Sani's Capitol City Ballet (Sacramento, CA), Milwaukee Ballet, and American Festival Ballet (Boise, Idaho). Robyn started teaching at Capitol City Ballet and continued to teach as she moved around the country. In Boise, Idaho she taught and directed with Sarah Arnold for the regional companies Capital City Youth Ballet and Ballet Idaho Youth Company. Robyn founded her own school, the Ballet Academy of Moses Lake, in Washington and choreographed and directed recitals, the Nutcracker, and summer intensive workshops. Robyn enjoys teaching all ages and increasing her students' knowledge of anatomy to encourage healthy habits for dancing. Other interests include Pilates, Yoga, and working as a massage and craniosacral therapist.
In 1973 she began the study of teaching technique with LaVerne Krei in the Sacramento area as well as internationally recognized “teacher of teachers” Charles (Chuck) Kelley in New York. She has taken classes at the Joe Tremaine, Roland Dupree and other dance studios in Los Angeles. Patrice arrived at The Ballet Studio in 1995 to study with our founder Bobbi Bader.
Her expertise lies in working with teen and adult dancers to help them understand the fundamentals of good technique and encourage them to explore the joys of body awareness and movement. There is no better experience for her than seeing that “lightbulb” turn on when a student understands and incorporates a dance principle.
