  近年、本研究室では、サンゴの生物学、とりわけ神経生物学の進展を目指して、「サンゴ神経ペプチドプロジェクト（Coral Neuropeptides Project）」をフランスのBOREAグループと共同で立ち上げました。サンゴと近縁のヒドラやクラゲでは、神経ペプチド（ニューロンから分泌されるポリペプチド）が、幼生の定着や変態、ポリプの収縮、配偶子の成熟と排卵、免疫など、さまざまな生理機能において調節因子やホルモンとして重要な役割を果たすことが知られています。本プロジェクトでは、ゲノム、トランスクリプトーム、ペプドームといったマルチオーム解析を通じて、サンゴの神経ペプチドを包括的に特定し、その機能や分布を解明することを目指しています。

Job Overview
Background and Project Description

In recent years, our laboratory has launched the "Coral Neuropeptides Project" in collaboration with the BOREA Group in France, aiming to advance coral biology, particularly in neurobiology. In related species such as hydras and jellyfish, neuropeptides (polypeptides secreted by neurons) are known to play crucial roles as regulatory factors and hormones in various physiological functions, including larval settlement and metamorphosis, polyp contraction, gamete maturation and ovulation, and immune responses. Through multi-omics analyses such as genomics, transcriptomics, and peptidomics, this project aims to comprehensively identify coral neuropeptides. It seeks to elucidate their functions, distribution, and expression changes in response to environmental changes.

Responsibilities

• Execute the project.

• Guide students in experiments, training, and manuscript preparation.

• Travel to France for collaborative research.

• Perform other related duties as necessary.

Position
Equivalent to Postdoctoral Researcher

Research Fields
Coral biology (particularly neurobiology), molecular biology, histology, biochemistry, bioinformatics analysis, etc.

Salary

• Annual Salary: 830,000–1,250,000 NTD (approx. 4–6 million JPY, calculated at 1 JPY = 4.8 NTD).

• Salary will be paid in New Taiwan Dollars (NTD).

• The annual salary will be determined based on work experience and performance.

• Includes pay raise opportunities and bonuses (once a year).

Working Hours

• Work Hours: 09:30–18:30

• Break: 12:00–13:00

• Holidays: Saturdays, Sundays, national holidays, Lunar New Year holidays, annual paid leave, and special leave as stipulated in workplace regulations.

• Overtime/Other Details: Some weekend work may be required for conferences or business trips.

Qualifications

• Academic Degree: Must hold (or expect to obtain) a Ph.D. in a related field.

• Language Proficiency: Practical English proficiency is required for conducting experiments and presentations during collaborative research in France. No specific English certifications are required.

• Applicants should:

  • Work closely with students to solve challenges together.

  • Be of any gender or nationality (early-career researchers are encouraged to apply).
