Level 1 is an labyrinthine complex of rooms and hallways which appear similar to those of Level 0, albeit with several differences. The most notable of these are those of the carpet and the fluorescent lights; the carpet is fully dry and the fluorescent lights buzz at a normal volume. Another key difference is the appearance of other structures within the level, e.g. random speakers, telephones, air conditioners, water fountains, etc., as well as crates, which often contain a multitude of supplies; these are not always useful, however. Like Level 0, Level 1 has rooms (more so than the former, in fact), though these are often empty as well. Regardless, they are considered a good place to make a habitation.Â
THE MAZE
Like Level 0, Level 1 has a unique area, which has been alternatively dubbed "The Maze" or "The Concrete Maze" by wanderers. It appears as exactly that (with the second picture being an example), and it is notably more dangerous than the normal areas of the level. The section's walls are notably either much higher or much lower, often both in the same area, than normal walls proportional to human sizes should be; this is considered one of the anomalous effects of the Backrooms. This section notably does not have rooms in it, meaning habitation is far more difficult than in the normal section of the level.
ENTRANCES
Level 1 can be entered through noclipping into a wall in Level 0 (note: this also has a chance to bring one to Level 2).
Level 1 can be entered through some concrete doors in Level 0.
EXITS
Level 1 can be exited through an industrial door, which will lead to Level 2.
Level 0 can be exited through some doors, which lead to Level 0.
