He was physically the weakest with the blade, but he was the strongest when it came to strategy and support. Able to amplify the auras of those he commanded, he was well defended in the back lines unless otherwise hidden from the battleground in some way, shape, or form. So, during most battles, it was indeterminable if he was ever truly there or not unless someone actually searched the area.

Gale did spill blood once in a while himself when he felt that he could fight, but he was the only one of the Archangels who was never seen put into a revival state.
