Apar is a lawyer and the Executive Director of the Internet Freedom Foundation (IFF) which is an Indian digital organization that seeks to ensure that technology respects fundamental rights. Completing his post-graduation from the Columbia University School of Law, Apar has worked as a commercial litigator in top law firms and was a partner at Advani & Co. From 2015, he has been working extensively on public interest issues. His work as a lawyer include key digital rights cases on privacy and censorship. He is part of key constitutional challenges on Section 66A, the Right to Privacy and Aadhar representing public interest litigants. Beyond court, he has worked extensively with activists and set up digital campaigns such as those on Net Neutrality (SaveTheInternet.in), fight against defamation laws (SpeechBill.in) and safeguard privacy (SaveOurPrivacy.in). With IFF and several digital campaigns, Apar is committed to advancing values of the Constitution of India in a digital, technology mediated society.

It is an online monthly, peer-reviewed law journal providing incisive legal scholarship on issues that are at the forefront of contemporary legal discourse. In the coming years, TJCLR will regularly feature articles authored by judges of the Indian Supreme Court, senior counsels practicing at the Indian bar, and several renowned academics from national and foreign universities.
