Patrick was born and raised in San Diego, California. He attended Escondido High School where he participated in Cross Country, Track & Field, and Swim. Afterwards he went to college at California State University of San Marcos where he obtained his b.s in kinesiology with an emphasis in pre-physical therapy. During his time at CSUSM, Patrick interned with the sports medicine team for 3 years working with the school's collegiate teams. During his time interning , Patrick fell in love with athletics and sports medicine, so he decided to continue his education and committed to Oregon State University where he obtained his m.s in athletic training. During his time at Oregon State, Patrick was assigned specifically to OSU’s football, volleyball, women's soccer, women's golf, and men's basketball teams. He also spent one year rotation working with Western Oregon University's athletics working with baseball, women's volleyball, men’s and women's basketball, women's soccer, and softball.
