As mentioned previously, every player of Forcebound inly received 5 talent points to split across five categories, with those being melee, ranged, gadgets, force, and armor. The ways in which a player splits their talent points will affect the way in which they will be able to set up their loadout of weapons and abilities.
The image to the left depicts the talent points screen as it will appear in any of Forcebound's games/worlds aside from Korriban. In order to reach this page, a player must select the Talents tab at the top of the main menu upon joining game or resetting. The +/- icons at the bottom of each category can be used to add or subtract talent points from that category. A player's remaining talent point balance will be presented at the bottom of the screen.
Each talent category can be allotted a maximum of 3 talent points. The reasoning for this is, is that the weapons and abilities from each of the five categories are eseentially divided into tiers one, two, and three, with the number of respective talent points in the category determining which tier of weapons/abilities the player may equip. See below for an example of such on Forcebound's loadout screen:
The image above displays a player's talent points menu with 3 points in the ranged category, and 2 points in the gadgets category.
This image presents the ranged weaponry page of the Forcebound loadout screen. The 5 icons farthest to the left indicate the 5 categories of weapons and abilities that correspond with the 5 categories of talent points. The circled numbers next to those icons indicate the number of talent points needed in that category to use a specific tool.
Talent Point Restrictions and Saves
Talent point distributions can be affected by the faction that a player selects when they join a game. Certain faction teams prohibit the attribution of talent points to specific categories in order to maintain lore-accurate depictions of their members. As an example, those who play on the Mandalorian Empire faction team are restricted from placing any talent points in the force category. Talent point distributions do, however, save between different factions. This means that if a player has their points distributed between force and melee while playing as a member of the Jedi Order faction, and distributed between ranged and gadgets as member of the Mandalorian Empire faction, they will not have redistribute their talent points every time they switch between the two teams.
