College Dance Fair-2013

TFDE COLLEGE DANCE FAIR A HUGE SUCCESS!

I could not be more excited about the huge success of the event this weekend. We had approximately 50 students representing 10 different schools, 7 school districts (Round Rock, Austin, Pflugerville, Leander, Colspring-Oakhurst Consolidated, Killeen Goose Creek Consolidated ISDs), and 15 dance studios (Hot on Your Heels, Dancin Jazzi, Dance Gallery, The Dance Spot, Spotlight Dance Company, Dancer's Workshop, Love of China School of Dance, The Danceworks, Spectrum Dance Studio, Cedar Park Dance Company, The Dance Center of Baytown, Bhumn, TruDance Project, Ballet Afrique, Puerto Rican Folkloric Dance Company). The ages were from 9th-12th grade, male and female, and some that traveled from Baytown, Coldspring, Harker Heights Texas just to attend the event.

I just want to take this time to thank everyone that has been involved in the growth of TFDE over the past year and of course those that participated in the College Dance Fair this weekend. Jamie and I have put our heart and time into this cause because we believe so strongly in it and could not do it without your support.

The classes I witnesses this weekend were inspiring, fun, and thought provoking. I saw a special light in your eyes as you experienced something new for the first time. I watched you laugh, become comfortable with one another, and work tirelessly for almost 4 hours. You were polite, hardworking, and inspirational. I am so very grateful to the teachers that helped promote this event on campus/studio, encourage students to attend, and assisted with registration. Without their help, this event would not be possible. I hope their passion for our profession will continue to spread to you students and grow this organization further. A special thank you to Abby, Brittnie, and Michelle at Stony Point for all that they did to promote and prepare and graciously host the location for the event. The number of dancers you had attending the event was simply outstanding. And a double special thank you to Brittnie Plattor and the Tiger Dancers for being there from set up to clean up. It was so very much appreciated!

A special thank you to the studio owners/companies and students that helped share the event through social media, at your studio, and even attended the event in person. We hope to have a long standing relationship with you and your students. Please let us know of any we can continue to support your studio or any way you would like to offer benefits to members of TFDE.

As we wrap up our fall event, we continue to look to the future and what will bring next. We thank you all again for all your support! See you at the next event!
