HS Graduation Year: 2017
Danced at: When I was 3 years old, my mom put me into tap and ballet classes at American Dance Co. That didn’t last too long because I got into Texas Cheer and Dance, where I cheered for a while, but spent longer being apart of one of their hip hop teams! Since the age of 5, I participated in the annual Spurs Junior Silver Dancer clinic. Which led me to audition to be part of the little kid hip hop team for the Spurs: Junior Jammers, where I danced for 2 seasons at the games! When I was in high school, I was on pep squad for two years and attended Grace Dance Studio to help me prepare for dance team tryouts. After making the dance team my junior year, I continued to go to my studio to step up my technique and I even made Colonel of the Goldenbelles dance team my senior year! Junior Silver Dancers ended the 14-18 group my senior year, and instead they came out with a Teen Elite group where we had to audition to get a spot. I can proudly say that I was part of the first ever Spurs Teen Elite group!! All these great experiences pushed me to further my education in dance so that I can become a more diverse dancer, and so that I will be a well rounded teacher to help others explore dance.
College/University: University of North Texas
College Major: BA Dance with teacher certification
Dance Activities: North Texas Emeralds Team
Year in college/graduation year: Sophomore ℅ 2021
Future Career Goals: I hope to get some experience in the professional dance world right after college, but for long term I want to share my love for dance with the high school level as a dance teacher. That being said I plan to look for a high school that also needs a director of a dance/drill team that way I can run a team to be great and give back all that I have learned since I was on dance team in high school. Hopefully everything can lead me to owning my own dance studio once I get older/wiser, because that will make me feel like I’ve done everything I could in my dance career.
