To keep art on its' toes, I often like to create art visually opposite to my webcomic, with the comic being cartoonish and very simple, my personal works tend to be realistic along with a strong stylisation, leaning more into hatching, cross-hatching and similar techniques.
Dracula is one of the earliest pieces made after a long burn out, depicting a lady being seduced by Dracula and unknownling, preparing her neck for him to bite. With Dracula in the midground, jaw a gape, ready for his next meal. This piece is as much a study on lighting and texture of various materials as it is a further push on my hatching techniques and style. Whilst using mostly hatching and cross-hatching, I changed various aspects in order to give different textures and shadows to the skin, clothing and hair. With the skin having thinner and shorter hatching lines, along with a simple mostly one tone shading, with small aspects of two tones when necessary. The clothes are thicker and longer, with a consistent two tone shading throughout, the clothes also have no areas lacking ink, giving the clothing a realistic texture.
