Apartment Move-Out Checklist

Complete every item below. Start early: spreading the work over your 30-day notice period makes it easier.

BEFORE MOVE-OUT

Give 30 days' notice in writing by text or email to the rental office.
Pay all rent and fees.
Change your address with USPS. Every adult must file their own. Text or email us the confirmation. [Change of address link]
Remove ALL belongings and trash, inside and outside.
Clean the home (see "Cleaning" below).
Fix damage beyond normal wear and tear, such as large holes in walls, deep scratches, or broken panels. Small nail holes and light scuffs are OK.
Replace burned-out light bulbs and broken blinds.
(If applicable) Remove exterior antennas.
(If applicable) Clean all furniture. Tell the rental office about any damage.

Kitchen: Clean the inside and outside of the fridge, stove, and all cabinets. Sweep the floors.
- IMPORTANT: If the stove and fridge are not cleaned, at least $500 will be deducted from your deposit.
Bathroom: Clean the tub/shower, toilet, sink, cabinets, and mirrors. Sweep the floors.
Other rooms and hallways: Sweep the floors, clean the windows, wipe surfaces, and spot-clean walls.
Everywhere: Remove all food, personal items, stickers, and posters.

Within 30 days after you move out, we mail your refund, or a list of any deductions, to the address you give us.
If more than one tenant is on the lease, the refund goes to the last tenant living in the home.
Refunds are sent by check only.
A lost or replaced check costs $30.

Move-in photos: These show how the property looked when you moved in. We use them to check the property when you move out. If a link to the photos is not shared with you in your move out checklist email, they may be requested from the rental office.
