Meetings
We are a team. Though we range from elementary to high school and come from different places in Taiwan, we are united as one. We plan and have meetings online and in person before camps are held. We throw in our own ideas, and use the methods we learn to teach students. Our hope is the same, to help students from suburban elementary learn English and Science.
To learn a language is to have one more window from which to look at the world. And we believe that English is the key to a whole new world where we can enlarge our scope of knowledge and open our eyes to the entire world.
Science is the logic behind everything. By understanding science, we can understand and create new things. We believe that by teaching students science, they can grow up to be creative and curious prodigies.
We are the next generation, our future is dependent on how our world will be, but we have to watch as our planet is ruined. For our future, we should take action to preserve this world, but according to research, 42% of students don't know what climate change is.
Coding is the future. In the realm of server side software languages, Python is considered easy to read, write and learn. This coding language is just right for elementary students to learn.
Our Projects
(9 volunteers, 30 students)
We taught students to read English books and told them the meanings of each word through the description in English. We believe that we shouldn't learn English from translation; instead, we should embrace it and learn from the language itself. After teaching them, we film them reading the stories, make videos from these films, and show them to the students. By doing so, we hope to show them that, yes, they have the ability to read an English book and can do far more if they start learning harder.
(17 volunteers, 30 students)
We read the story, Moana, to students. To encourage them that they should go after their dreams and let their hearts lead them. Also, we hope to let the volunteers head towards their dream.
(21 volunteers, 40 students)
Science helps our understanding of the world around us. Kids often ask, "What?", "Why?", & "How." We want to solve their questions and fuel them to come up with more. We encourage them to ask and solve problems independently to develop their sense of creativity and logic. Through teaching and preparing, volunteers can get to know their projects more, understand the reason behind them, and transform it into their own words.

We teach amazing science experiments and play with their science experiments with them.

Nowadays, our world is changing, the weather is getting hotter, extreme weather is wreaking havoc around the globe, but we don't seem to be doing anything to save our world. Even though the talk of stopping climate change has been going on for years, most people don't take action. We are the next generation, our future is dependent on how our world will be, but we have to watch as our planet is ruined. For our future, we should take action to preserve this world, but according to research, 42% of students don't know what climate change is. Thus, Teenage Light took action to host a climate change online camp to teach elementary students about climate change and for them to understand its importance and make a change.

The emission of carbon dioxide has been the talk for years. Even more, countries have agreed to phase down coal during COP26 this year. As global citizens, it is our duty to understand the issues we face with our energy production and how to improve them.
