On March 17th, the Canucks & Bolts attended their second ever official competition. This was a three day competition at Robbinsville High School, New Jersey. This was a three day event where 9116 competed in twelve qualification matches, and two semifinal matches with a record of 5-8-1. Out of this event, 9116 left ranked 21, with 24 more district points, and the FIRST Rookie Inspiration Award!
Team 9116 makes their way to Robbinsville on the evening of the 17th. Here we set up our pit and got weighed and inspected for competition. Next we spent the rest of the night going through some practice matches before heading back to North Plainfield.
Team 9116 woke up bright and early for day two of the competition. Here we went through qualification matches and had our fair share of struggles and achievements. Our driving was much improved since last competition with the additional weight, and our improved autonomous code allowed us to score a cube on the high shelf. We dealt with continued pneumatics issues and finally resolved them with changes to the code.
The team left early again for the last day of the competition. Here we finished up qualification matches in rank 21 and waited for alliance selection. We were thrilled to be picked on alliance eight along with team 714 and 1089. We played two matches on the alliance and were eliminated by alliance five (Teams: 293, 4653, and 4652). Regardless, we watched the competition excitedly and were thrilled to end the day carrying the Rookie Inspiration Award back home with us to North Plainfield, and increasing our total to 56 district points.
