Founded in September 2019 by mentor Mr. Giardina, the Canucks & Bolts is North Plainfield High School's Competitive robotics team. We are a small but diverse group of students ranging from grades 8-12.
As a team, we have competed at Brunswick Eruption unofficially for events Destination: Deep Space 2019, and Rapid React 2022. In 2019, we received the "Future Glory Award" and plan to make good on that promise. In the 2022 competition we ended in 26th place. Following this event, we were informed that we received the FIRST new team grant, allowing us the funds for our first competition season, along with an additional FIRST Mid-Atlantic equipment grant.
Since our inception, we have hosted multiple annual FLL competitions as a team. These were all very successful events with the help of our partner team, FRC team 102. These events enabled more parent and community involvement, and expanded the STEM presence in our town.
Our goals for the future are to develop, research, program, and improve our robot. While expanding our grip on teamwork, discovery, networking, and innovation. We have already had a successful rookie season, and look forward to more success in the future. As we continue as a team, we plan to build our numbers and involvement in the community.
For all we create we aim to achieve improvement and stability for all who participate and further our goal as a team. With the union of our team and the standards of ACES (Accountability, Consistency, Effort and Success), combined with the creativity of our artistic members we will not just survive, but thrive with pride and determination.
