Community Impact Award

Purpose

The Community Impact Award honors an individual, group, or organization in Halifax County, Virginia, that has made a meaningful and lasting difference in the community.

Eligibility

• Must be based in or have direct impact on Halifax County, VA.
  
  

• Contributions must have occurred within the last 3 years.
  
  

Criteria for Selection

Nominees will be evaluated on how well they demonstrate the following qualities:

1. Active Community Engagement

   • Consistently involved in volunteer activities or community initiatives.
     
     

   • Demonstrates a visible presence in local events, schools, and organizations.
     
     

2. Improving Quality of Life
   
   

   • Efforts have directly improved the atmosphere, well-being, or spirit of Halifax County.
     
     

   • Positively influences individuals, families, or neighborhoods.
     
     

3. Support Through Voluntary Service
   
   

   • Provides meaningful support to organizations, causes, and community events through time, talent, or resources.
     
     

4. Proactive Leadership
   
   

   • Takes initiative in starting or supporting new programs, projects, or partnerships that benefit the community.
     
     

   • Seeks out opportunities to fill gaps and address community needs.
     
     

5. Sustained Positive Impact
   
   

   • Contributions show long-term commitment rather than one-time involvement.
     
     

   • Creates a ripple effect, inspiring others to engage and give back.
