Overview

Shewben was used in the 2018 Power Up season. This robot features a tank drive design for a new driver friendly mechanic. This robot has an elevator system for out claw. Shewben also has a claw used for picking up box game pieces.

Retractable Spring Clamping Gripper

The gripper was designed with springs to allow good clamping force with the springs and also simplify the design and keep it slim so it can still be retractable for the beginning of the match.

Three Stage guided Rail Elevator

Shewben has an elevator which is attached at two points, the robot and the gripper. by doing this we are able to move the gripper to many heights and are able to reliably deploy game pieces to specific locations on shelfs. this is also a three rail system because the railing used is three separate railings held together by rope and chains. by doing this we were able to fit many stacked rails to extend to greater heights.
