"Teachers in the Distance" is an Erasmus + Cooperation for Innovation and the Exchange of Good Practices project of Strategic Partnerships for Adult Education.

The aim of the project is to develop adult educators' competences to perfect teaching of literacy and digital skills of adult learners through effective use of ICT. Adult educators need to be competent in the classroom as well as in long distance teaching situation, because nowadays adult learners lead a mobile life.

The target group of this project is adult language educators. Developing adult educators' skills in both ICT and the use of information technology/ICT equipment is important in order to improve adult teaching. Adult educators need to take into consideration the digital learning needs of adult learners. The project aims to develop the most appropriate technologies that provide a supportive framework to address those needs.

The outcome of the project is a platform where new methodology and ICT tools developed in order to increase the quality of language learning. All content found on the platform will be open and free for public use.

The organizations participating in the project are:

  1. Pärnu Adult Gymnasium from Estonia,
  2. Zebra language school from Czech Republic,
  3. Ventspils University College from Latvia,
  4. Oulu-Opisto from Finland, and
  5. University of Information Technology and Management from Poland.
