Goals and Objectives for Collective Efficacy Professional Learning Module

This Collective Teacher Efficacy Professional Learning Module is designed as a professional development module for school leaders. It is aligned with standards for those in leadership roles in educational organizations. The goals and objectives for this module are consistent with North Carolina Standards for School Executives, particularly addressing Strategic Leadership and Cultural Leadership in building teacher efficacy. This module also covers school improvement standards in The Professional Standards for Educational Leaders, and The Teacher Leader Model Standards for supporting teacher leaders' roles in building capacity for collective teacher efficacy in schools. This module is aligned with these leadership standards to ensure that learners can meet the following objectives through the completion of the module.

The objectives for this module are:

  1. Define Collective Efficacy in educational settings

  2. Explain why Collective Efficacy is important for school growth

  3. Describe conditions and practices that foster Collective Teacher Efficacy in schools

STANDARD 1. MISSION, VISION, and CORE VALUES: Effective educational leaders develop, advocate, and enact a shared mission, vision, and core values of high-quality education and academic success and well-being of each student.

STANDARD 2. ETHICS and PROFESSIONAL NORMS: Effective educational leaders act ethically and according to professional norms to promote each student’s academic success and well-being.

STANDARD 7. PROFESSIONAL COMMUNITY for TEACHERS and STAFF: Effective educational leaders foster a professional community of teachers and other professional staff to promote each student’s academic success and well-being.
