The Chinese Program in the World Languages and Cultures of TCNJ offers four years of instruction in Mandarin Chinese as a major and minor in a Chinese language. Students can also petition for a self-designed major in Chinese language, culture and history.
The courses offered include First-year intensive Chinese (CHI 151-152), Second-year non-intensive Chinese (CHI 201-202), Third-year (CHI 301-302) and Advanced Chinese courses. Students are encouraged to choose a minor in Chinese which consists of five course units.

The National Collegiate Chinese Honor Society, sponsored by the Chinese Language Teachers Association, USA (CLTA), is founded to recognize outstanding academic achievement of college students in learning Chinese as a second language, to encourage them to continue to study Chinese after they graduate from college, and to promote the study of Chinese language, literature, and culture in the United States.
