At Taylorsville Elementary, problem-solving takes center stage in our STEM education approach. Our teachers collaborate to develop STEM units that immerse students in practical problem-solving scenarios. Each unit is thoughtfully designed to present challenges that ignite the students' critical thinking and creativity. We have designed our own Engineer Design Process model, prominently displayed in every classroom. This model serves to guide students along the STEM journey with appropriate steps to take.
We encourage our students to embrace the journey of redesigning their ideas multiple times, fostering a mindset that views setbacks not as failures but as invaluable learning opportunities. With a commitment to a growth mindset, we hope students begin to see their own "failures" as new opportunities.
