Excelling will look like: Students consistently document long-term projects-based learning, day-to-day interdisciplinary learning, and investigative research in STEM journals. Written journals demonstrate cross-curricular integration across multiple disciplines. Written journals are in place to demonstrate written student reflections and project ownership. Student thinking is well-documented throughout the journal.

3rd graders brainstormed ideas about recycling at TES and came up with questions that they needed to be answered.

Fourth Grade
How might we design plant based solutions to reduce and deter pests in our learning spaces?
4th Grade sent a survey to the entire school via Schoology, to aks teachers and students what ypes of bugs they typically see in their classrooms and what time of year. Students document the results in their journals.
Using the survey results, 4th grade designed a plan for creating natural pest repellants around the school.
$th grade students researched different types of plants that deter pests. They documented their research in their journals.
Miss Mary, TES Lead Janitor, spoke to the 4th grade about pest issues in the school and how the school currently deals with them.
Students took notes during Miss Mary's talk. Students also asked Miss Mary questions about how she keeps pests out of our learning spaces.
