This project was designed for two students to do specific research on two locations. Then the team was supposed to communicate similarities and differences between their locations and present this information on a shared PowerPoint. I chose Germany as my location, my partner chose India.
First things first, we were to choose locations outside of the United States. Digging into different countries and understanding not all aspects are the same. One interesting thing I learned from this project was that the size of the country and population can affect the outcome of statistics. For example, India is 9 times larger than Germany, yet India is more restricted or limited on internet access. While Germany is very technology rich and has a much smaller digital divide.
One major takeaway from this project was that digital divide exists in all places whether large or small. There will be a portion of the area that won't have access to the internet due to varying factors.
Another thing I've gained from this project was the ability to communicate with my partner about proper information formatting. We were given guidelines in what to research about out location. However, we didn't find the exact same information. there were times we had to keep researching to find information to compare in the PowerPoint for it to make sense. My partner and I communictaed through text and were able to let the other know when we needed help or revision.
