Interstitial Cystitis & Lyme Disease
Borrelia burgdorferi spirochetes have been found both in bladder biopsies and the urine of patients with Lyme disease as well as in experimental animals. The urological symptoms in borreliosis resemble those of interstitial cystitis (IC): frequency, urgency and nocturia.
