What did I learn?
What did I learn?
For this meeting, I learned about TPACK (explanation continues below), making me more aware when teaching and must get used to teaching with these principles. All this time, I thought that teaching is just paying attention to learning objectives and focusing only on methods or activities, but it turns out that it also requires TPACK which will make us as teachers easier to teach.
3th of April 2024 (03.20 PM - 04.30 PM)
For two-letter terms, there are CK, PK, TK.
(CK) Content knowledge is my knowledge of the content or material to be taught to students. In English education, it usually focuses on listening, reading, writing, speaking, grammar, vocabulary.
(PK) Pedagogical knowledge is my knowledge of how to teach such as methods, approaches, or strategies. Usually found in TEFL, TEYL, and Classroom management courses.
(TK) Technological knowledge is my knowledge of the technology that will be used. Taught in digital literacy, TIE, CMALL.
For terms that consist of three letters, there are PCK, TCK, TPK:
(PCK) Pedagogical Content Knowledge is my knowledge of how to teach or what methods are suitable for the particular material to be taught so that students are able to understand it effectively.
(TCK) Technological Content Knowledge is my knowledge of how to teach certain material using technology to represent it so that it is easier for students to understand.
(TPK) Technological Pedagogical Knowledge is my knowledge of how to teach or what methods to choose to match the technology used.
Note: the difference between TCK and TPK.
TCK is made during teaching preparation or before teaching.
TPK is made and implemented during teaching.
The three basic knowledge must be mastered by the teacher so that what is taught can reach the students well. The more methods, the easier it is to teach. The more applications that are mastered, the easier it is for teachers to create learning materials that support learning. Teachers must know what to teach and must make others know what is taught. Lets somebody know. Sometimes the way of teaching is very ineffective, so media is needed.
In technological knowledge there are 4 types
1. Low = technology without electricity (markers, blackboards, books)
2. Medium = technology that has been electrified.
3. Advanced = technology connected to the internet.
4. (Mr. Limbong's language) own body, God's creation. All technology if there are no humans, it does not move.
At this meeting, the student appointed to display her Power Point was Siti Nisrina Azzahra to be given comments and feedback.
Feedback from Mr. Limbong for Siti Nisrina Azzahra and all students:
1. We need to use 12 CTML principles in making Power Point. Don't have too much text in one slide, you can use segmenting.
2. We must use different colors in each slide. If you want to make 30 slides, then make 30 different colors.
3. Say make a motivational quote, make sure to display a photo of the person who made the quote.
4. Don't just use the standard font, it must be "nyeleneh" so that it varies.
5. In making slides containing signaling, you can use infographics. For example, if I want to display a time signal, I can use an infographic to make it easier to understand.
6. In a quiz, the instruction must be clear.
7. In designing the material, make sure it can be delivered intelligently. Don't let the slides be ugly, so that when teaching, you will be confused.
8. In the teaching video, watch at least 3-4 students, because later there will be a rubric of TPACK questions where those who have to answer are students who understand TPACK as well.
