In this meeting I have received new information about a free website creation platform that can become an easy-to-use electronic Portofolio, namely Google Sites. This platform makes it easy for us to keep note, document, and become a place to host material without price limits or premium levels. By learning about Google Sites, I can create my own website without the fear of having to pay website fees or lack of access because it is paid.
As students, if we enter all the meetings, it means that we have passed the course. We get three chances for being absent, including permission for university activities, permission because of sickness with a letter from the doctor, and permission to come late because of trouble on the street, and we can give proof by sending a video or picture in the situation.
This course has more than two assignments, which are an essay and a Google Sites final project as our "house.".
Do not be late more than 15 minutes to come join this class, even Mr. Limbong too. If he does not come in 15 minutes, all the students in the class can leave the classroom. In addition, usually Mr. Limbong will call the class leader if he cannot come to the class.
We must join a group chat in WhatsApp for the course, and we need to upload our selfie or face photo as a profile picture.
Then, we created a group of 4-5 students, took a picture with Mr. Limbong, and sent it to the group. We should not upload any content without permission from him. At that time, I joined with Mita Ekda Febriana, Roichatul Jannah A.S, Siti Annisa, and Asha Natajziah as Group 4.
For the deadline of an activity or assignment, we can discuss it with the whole class and compromise with Mr. Limbong to change it before making a deal.
We must bring our laptop, internet data, one marker for one person to demonstrate in front of the class, and an electric plug when we join the Technology in Education class.
For the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th meetings, we will focus on PACIFIC applications or websites. PACIFIC is an acronym for:
P = Power Point
A = artificial intelligence
C = Capcut
I = Inknoe Classpoint
F = Filmora
I = Internet
C = Canva
We are free to choose the applications that we want to study and make a video about one of them. Each member of the group can create videos with many topics and is not allowed to choose the same topic, even with a classmate. We need to make a deal with the classmate when we want to choose some topic in one application or website, so there won't be the same topic in one class.
We should create videos with a minimum duration of 5 minutes and a maximum duration of 7 minutes. We upload them to our YouTube channel with unlisted visibility. After that, we can share our link videos with the other classmates. So, they can see our videos and study together about some applications.
All of the students must create a Google Site for Technology in Education based on the links that Mr. Limbong has shared in the group chat. Don't forget to create pages for Home, Profile, and Meetings. After we create them, we need to design the header in Canva.
At that time, Mr. Limbong showed us the Google sites that had been created by our senior. He said that we don't need to put our picture on the home page; instead, we need to create a profile page that shows our positive background. For the content of the Google Sites, we will fill it with the definition of every application that we will study, documentation or pictures, and Youtube links about all application tutorials that were created by our classmates.
Google Sites is a free platform that allows users to quickly and simply create and display websites. It was founded in March 2008. Google sites are simple to use, especially for learning, by using capabilities like Google Docs, Sheets, Forms, Calendars, Awesome Tables, and so on. The benefits of this site include that it is free, simple to use, gives 100MB of free online storage, and is integrated with other Google products such as Google Forms, YouTube, Wikipedia, and so on (Mukhoyyaroh et al., 2023)
