From this meeting I learned to create materials using PACIFIC. I tried to make sure that all applications could contribute to the materials I created. I am not good at using Canva on my laptop, but I am getting used to editing and searching for elements based on the appropriate keywords, as well as other PACIFIC applications, I already know many features of these applications and how to use them. The benefit that I got from this meeting was that creating effective materials with a combination of colors is easy so that it can attract students' attention. The pictures are documentation of the assignment process. For further explanation, it can be found below.
27th of March, 2024 - (12.20 PM - 13.27 PM) via Zoom Meeting
In this meeting, Mr. Limbong reminded us to collect the first assignment link with the class leader. Then, we continued to discuss the second assignment with a value that is also weighted 20%, namely Teaching English Lesson with TPACK and PACIFIC.
This assignment will be done in five weeks. Mr. Limbong will give us topics from various books, we have to choose a teaching topic that is different from other students. After that, we will make a list in the WhatsApp Group. The topic that I choose is in Chapter Five of 9th Grade of Junior Highschool with the title "Everybody is in the Middle of Something".
In this assignment, we have to use all the PACIFIC applications and websites. For example, when we create a recount text, we create the material with Canva with all the features maximized, then we export the Canva slides to Power Point to use Inknoe Classpoint, then if we take a video material from Youtube, we can edit it with Capcut or Filmora. Mr. Limbong also talked about the plans for the next meeting:
For this 8th meeting, we have to choose a topic from the students' classes, freely and send it on WhatsApp Group.
Then, for meeting 9, before Wednesday next week, the materials made with PACIFIC must be collected so that the next day Mr. Limbong will display and give feedback.
In meetings 10-11, we can carry out learning by choosing 3-4 friends to be students face to face. In doing this assignment, we are allowed to use empty rooms on campus. We are also allowed to teach at home, as long as we have the proper tools. The teaching must be recorded, with a minimum duration of 20 minutes, a maximum of 25 minutes, and in English.
At the 12th meeting, we will send the assignment to Mr. Limbong's email and the results will be uploaded on Google Sites.
For the teaching process, we have to choose one specific skill that we want to teach from the topic. We need to open the book that has the material and follow the instructions, but focus on only one skill to be taught. For example, we can teach listening skill only or grammar only.
In this assignment, Mr. Limbong emphasized that creativity in using PACIFIC is very important. Here is my material for this assignment:
Note: If we open the Power Point above, some fonts will change and different than what I have designed in Canva. However, the Power Poin file in my laptop still fine.
