The Interceptor Class in the game STAR WARS: SPACE BATTLE as in most games/simulations is the fastest, smallest, most maneuverable and lightest armored of all the classes. The Interceptor Class is the most difficult to counter due to their size and speed making them difficult to hit and good for hit and run attacks and or chasing your opponent, They do come with many drawbacks however such as light fire power and light armor meaning that a few direct hits could bring the Interceptor pilot down. This makes them ideal for combat that requires a quick offensive that doesn’t include extended combat, It also makes them ideal for chasing enemy opponents as their speed and maneuverability allows a trained pilot to easily tail a slower enemy.
It is best that interceptor pilots travel in a set of two so that if one does get a tail, The second one will be able to quickly engage in combat with the opponent allowing for the first interceptor pilot to either escape or also engage in combat with the help of the second interceptor pilot, It also allows the two pilots of the interceptors to combine their light arms into a concentrated and deadly attack. While the light arms of a single interceptor pilot would be enough to defeat an opponent of any class, It could take much longer meaning that the interceptor pilot is much more likely to be shot down themselves during their pursuit. Two interceptors is ideal for combat as more will end up with them getting into each other's flight path and firing range causing problems for engagement and disengagement with an opponent. The game STAR WARS: SPACE BATTLE has four main interceptor ships, One for all the teams.
While the Interceptor Class is good for short engagement with any class, It is best suited for combat against the Fighter Class and other Interceptor Classes as for the Bomber class it will either have to slow down or make multiple strafing runs leaving it vulnerable to opponents. The Interceptor class is not well suited for escort roles as it will most likely have to slow down leaving it vulnerable. This ship is ideal for defense during Cruiser Assault or short offensive runs during Deathmatch and medium to short range combat.
