Bars/Clubs

The Capitol Music Hall, 55 Chapel Street, featured the following acts this month: the Hudson Delange Orchestra (http://www.bigbandlibrary.com/hudson-delange.html); “Star party – Sid Walker the Joints Jumpin”; and a “musical comedy revue with two bands”.

Gerard’s, on Route 20, featured Alvin Sless with Cameo Kirby plus the Ambassadors of Rhythm.

The Rhythm Club, 61 Madison Avenue, presented Music by "Scamps" and their 3 fiddles; Rosalie Pitts, Laura Pierre – vocals.

Mike Pantone’s Orchestra played the Lark Tavern, 452 Madison Avenue.

Baroness Von Stroheim - pianist, accordianist, playing the Solovox; Princess Betty Ann - guitar, singing, played the Klub Eagle, 32 Eagle Street.

Bill Milner, with his electric guitar and orchestra, played Brockley’s Blue and White Tavern, 27 2nd Avenue, Rensselaer.

Dewey and His Boys played the Pine Inn.

Stuart’s, 4-6 Sheridan Avenue, presented Dick Hardy’s Band with Betty Reeves, comic songstress.

Pat Patterson’s Music played the Club Hillside, Rensselaer.

Freddie Peter’s Orchestra played the Orchard Inn, North Manning Blvd.

Kelly’s Hotel in Nassau featured Charlie Gaulden and His Colored Kings.

The Rain-Bo Room at the Kenmore featured two acts: Herbie Holmes and his 18 Piece Broadcasting Orch; Lamb and Yokum Ice Parade, and Will Osborne and His New Hollywood Band. The Ten Eyck featured Joe Lopa and His Island Band.

Olive Boyd Brown announced the opening of the Sportsman’s Café, 150 Hudson Avenue. She was the featured singer from October through December. Billed herself as “Albany’s favorite singer of songs”.

Most of the other clubs featured entertainers carried over from the previous months.
