Three years ago, the frame in the middle of being replaced with an Eunos injection / AT engine was cut and left unattended, and after discovering it in a disjointed state without an engine, I spent three years searching for available parts and fully restored it. The aluminum body was less damaged, so I upgraded the chassis and painted it with Eculi Ecos Blue.
The engine has been modified based on the original TR2 engine, and the mission has been fully overhauled without OD. New wire harness made to order. OH finished such as meters. The carburetor was already overhauled at that time, and the exhaust was also custom-made up to the tail end. Suspension OH completed including shock absorbers. The tonneau cover is custom made by mohair. The front screen is also made of Plexiglas with a special aluminum pedestal. The interior is a custom-made cloth made in England with a dark tongue that matches well with the body color. Both seats and carpets are custom made. The steering wheel was a Darlington 15inch wood for TR Works, which was difficult to obtain at that time.
Chassis No. 1049 was exported from the UK to California in 1954 and was Alan Simon's first Swallow Doretti which he bought in 1964. Alan used the car through dental school for a total of 50,000 miles. The car was wrecked in 1969 and lay dormant until 1994 when it was re-built by Pete Petrov of Venice, California. Subsequently, the Doretti was exported to Japan.
