Where were they held?

From 1997 till 2008 the Masters was on a rotation basis of Associations that had enough diamonds and access to their grounds in the middle of Winter. In 2009 a promotions company was sourced by the State Office and the Masters was on the move to Regional Victoria. Our first trip to Bendigo was certainly challenging with sourcing all equipment needed as there was no Softball Association there. The Venue was an old WW2 aeroplane runway within a school ground. Apart from the logistics of getting everything there, our arrival seemed to break the drought and it rained all weekend, so the diamonds were certainly challenging and add to that the Kangaroos arriving from around 3.30 in the afternoon and leaving their calling cards on the ground to be slid through when playing, made for some interesting stories. When we arrived the school had a fabulous sand long jump pit and when we left they had a very muddy lap pool.

When the Masters began we needed 7 or 8 diamonds now with the increase in team numbers we need at least 11 diamonds, generally with all diamonds being utilised at all times
